Stiuso called as witness in the AMIA cover-up trial

Stiuso called as witness in the AMIA cover-up trial

Relatives and friends of the AMIA bombing victims hold banners demanding justice for their loved ones as they mark a new anniversary of the 1994 deadly attack.

Former top intelligence spymaster Antonio “Jaime” Stiuso will be a witness in the trial probing irregularities in the investigation into the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center that will have ex president Carlos Menem on the dock among other defendants.
The 2nd Federal Oral Tribunal has called Stiuso to give testimony in the trial that is expected to begin in the second half of the year.
Ex-counterintelligence boss Antonio Stiuso has also been called as a witness in the investigation into the death of AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman following telephone records that proved he had contact with the victim the day before he was found dead in his apartment located in the Buenos Aires City neighbourhood of Puerto Madero.
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner herself will be testifying as well in the AMIA cover-up trial that will seek to shed light on two main investigation lines: the alleged payment of 400,000 dollars to Carlos Telleldín for him to accuse Buenos Aires province police officers and the concealment of the so called “Syria connection” leading to businessman Kanoore Edul.
It was now late Alberto Nisman who had requested last year to have Antonio Stiuso sitting on the whiteness bench considering his statement “key” given the active role the senior spy played assisting the prosecutor in the AMIA probe.
