Nisman case: New ocular inspection ordered, telephones to be analyzed

Police are pictured outside the Puerto Madero building where AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman lived.

As the investigation into the death of the AMIA special prosecutor continues, a new ocular inspection in Alberto Nisman’s apartment has been ordered, and the victim’s telephone and computer equipment will start being analyzed.
Fabiana Palmaghini, the judge in charge of the investigation, has ordered a new ocular inspection in the victim’s apartment after a request by the plaintiff.
Following Palmaghini's order, experts will be allowed to examine Nisman's apartment and conduct evidence collection tests for further analysis. The inspection has been ordered for Friday at 11 am.
Meanwhile, prosecutor Viviana Fein has informed the Technological Support Division of the Federal Police will start to analyze the telephone and computer equipment seized.
Fein also stated that the full results on the microscopic electron scanning test on evidence samples carried out by a Salta province lab will soon be delivered. The prosecutor wants to have the full report before making any comments on the test, which found no traces of gunpowder, as did a similar one done by the Buenos Aires Scientific Police.
As regards computer engineer Diego Lagomarsino, Fein said recordings from the Del Sol Highway and the Illia Highway have been received for scrutiny.
The DNA samples that the Forensic Medical Corps will take from Lagomarsino will be compared with the DNA profile found last week in a coffee mug in the kitchen of Nisman’s apartment, located in the Buenos Aires City neighborhood of Puerto Madero.
Fein specified the DNA profile found belongs to a male.
The prosecutor added inquiries to Nisman’s police custody finished yesterday, and reaffirmed former spymaster Antonio Stiuso will be questioned as witness, but no information will be revealed until after the grilling.
