Zambia poll results postponed

Zambia poll results postponed

Election results have been postponed by the election commission of Zambia as some Zambians are still voting in some parts of flood stricken areas.

An official from the election commission said over 21 000 people are expected to cast their vote in the affected areas.

So far results in 14 constituencies have been announced and Edgar Lungu of the Patriotic Front (PF) had 11 out of the 14 constituencies.

Opposition leader of the United Party for National Development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema had only three of the constituencies.

Mr Davis Chama of the PF said the UPND are bad losers saying their recent attack of the African institutions shows their true colours.

Meanwhile, addressing his supporters, Hichilema said the elections had some concerns.

Early Wednesday morning he castigated the African Union and SADC for endorsing what he called ‘rogue’ elections.
