New device to charge smartphone in flat two minutes
WASHINGTON: An Israeli start-up StoreDot has developed ultra-fast chargers that can charge smartphone batteries in two minutes flat.
The batteries, shown at the " Consumer Electronics Show" in Las Vegas recently, have slightly shorter lives but can still last about five hours on a two-minute charge.
"But given how quick the batteries take to recharge, doing so a couple of times a day shouldn't be a problem," the company said in a statement.
During a demonstration, .. the firm also showed that the bio-organic charger system which they are developing at the lab in Tel Aviv can finally recharge a smartphone battery in just 30 seconds.
"It was created by using re-building battery technology from the bottom up," Doron Myersdorf, the company's CEO, was quoted as saying in a BBC report.
The reactions that happen in the battery are entirely different from those in normal ones, and include specially synthesised organic molecules.
